- After completing the required Beginner Karate
Training and receiving your rank of Yellow Belt, you will become
eligible to train in the 6-9 years old Karate classes.
- Classes are held:
- Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
Fridays from 5:30-6:45 PM.
- Training in all 3 days is optional. Most students
average 2 times per week. Training is unlimited, so you can come as
often as possible for the same price.
- The cost of the program is $380.00 per session
(16-weeks) if paid in full. You can also choose to make 4 - quarterly
payments of $100.00 due on the 1st, 5th, 9th and 13th weeks of the
session.
- When attending this class, make sure to ALWAYS have
your uniform and belt, as well as all of your sparring gear to every
class. We may not use it every night, but you should always have it
with you.
- Here is what to expect if want to join Rising Sun Martial Arts for ages 6-Adult:
-
- To start training, you'll have to start in our Beginner
Karate
class. This class will last a minimum of 4 weeks or until you prove that you
can properly execute our beginner requirements. Once you successfully
complete the requirements, you will then be able to start attending our
Karate classes as our first official rank of Yellow Belt. If you are unable
to complete the requirements at the end of the 4-week session, you will need
to attend another 4-week session until you have completed the course.
-
At the beginning of class, we
recite our Student's Creed...
"I
will train with Dedication, Desire, Determination and Discipline. I will
give 100% of myself, both mentally and physically, to become the best
Karate-Ka I can possibly be. I will dedicate myself to neither winning,
nor losing, but rather to the concept of improving my Mind, Body, Spirit
and Character."
We will also recite our Karate Creed...
"I
come to you with only Karate, my Empty Hands. I have no weapons, but
should I be forced to defend my life, my honor or my principles, be it a
matter of life or death, of right or wrong, then here are my weapons,
Karate, my Empty Hands."
- Karate sessions are offered in
the Fall Session (September thru December), in the Spring Session (January thru April) and
in the Summer Session (May thru August). Students may join at the
start of any beginner session. The dates are listed above.
- Due to the space availability, noise and attention
details, parents and spectators are not permitted in
the training areas. They may wait outside, in their car, or in the parking
lot to watch through the garage door if open. Beginning January 2, 2024, we
will begin to allow parents to enter the Dojo after the 6:30 PM class has
been bowed in. This will enable the parents to hear announcements that
affect schedules and training.
-
What
does the class learn?
Our training class
consists of three aspects. Sport, Discipline and Fitness.
-
Our fitness circuit
was developed to put Karate moves into a routine that gives a
student cardiovascular conditioning, while practicing their
technique.
-
The discipline part
of the class concentrates on techniques and material needed for rank
advancement. Advancing in rank is not a given, but rather earned
through hard work and dedication.
-
The sport aspect of
class concentrates on Karate competition. We do encourage students
to compete in Karate tournaments, but it isn't the competition
that's important, it's the effort in preparation that builds a
winning attitude and competitor.
